Rules
VOC is built on good-faith discussion and accurate weather information. Keep these in mind and you'll fit right in.
Be respectful
Treat everyone with basic respect regardless of experience level. Disagreements about forecasts are fine; personal attacks are not. No harassment, hate speech, or targeted insults.
Keep weather content accurate
Don't post unverified or panic-inducing weather claims. Cite your sources when sharing outlooks or radar interpretations. If you're not sure, say so.
Use the right channels
Post content where it belongs. Storm reports go in storm reports, general chat stays general. Off-topic content in weather channels will be moved or removed.
No spam or self-promotion
Don't flood channels with repeated messages, excessive pings, or unsolicited links. Sharing your own weather content is welcome in the appropriate channels — just don't make it the only thing you post.
Follow Discord's Terms of Service
You must be at least 13 years old to use Discord. Content that violates Discord's ToS or community guidelines is not allowed here either.
Listen to staff
Moderators and staff have final say on rule interpretations. If you disagree with a decision, bring it up calmly in a ticket — don't argue in public channels or try to work around it.
